Academics
Our academic program accentuates the best parts of online learning and eliminates the negatives.
Academics is the most important of our disciplines. Learning is done at our home base, The Factory. The Factory is a comfortable, quiet space for learning with mentors to help students maintain focus and keep everyone on schedule. EFT students are expected to act with a high-level of integrity and kindness. Leadership training and opportunities are an important part of our program.
A day in the life of an EFT student-athlete

We offer two different learning paths for student-athletes:
Option 1:
Flexible, Rigorous Online Learning powered by Edmentum’s EdOptions Academy
Students learning in our private, online academy are able to:
- Choose from a catalog of over 300 award-winning courses, including core, elective, college and career prep, and advanced courses.
- Work closely with supportive, certified teachers who are trained and experienced in guiding and supporting students learning online.
- Participate in engaging lessons and activities designed to meet the needs of all learners, including videos, audio content, and problem-based interactive lessons.
- Access pacing and progress-monitoring tools to help stay on track.
- Receive guidance and support from an experienced, certified school counselor who understands the needs of student athletes and the requirements for competing in college sports.
"You can work on your own time [in EdOptions Academy courses]. You don’t have to work with the class and be at your classes’ pace . . . it’s easier to work by yourself and independently."
—Carter, 9th grade student-athlete at EdOptions Academy
Option 2:
Stay at your High School
A secondary option is to stay enrolled in your current school by enrolling in their fully asynchronous online option. This can be a great option for high school students whose school allows their asynchronous virtual students to participate in sports and other programs. For students in schools with mostly asynchronous online options, we will work to customize a solution that fits your needs.
